It seems that people today are struggling to find the truth. What is truth after all?
What You Need to Know About the Truth
The dictionary defines truth as “that which is in accordance with reality”. It is the way it is. Truth is above and outside of opinion, theory and belief.
You can want things to be a certain way. But, no matter how much you want it, that doesn’t make it so.
People often make up their own version of the truth because the truth is sometimes hard to find. It can be elusive. However, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. The truth is always there. It may get clouded and twisted but it can never be destroyed.
No matter how much spin is put into an explanation or a situation, the truth remains the same. Lies, deception and mistakes can attempt to hide the truth. But, that is all they are doing. Hiding it. Making it hard to find. They don’t change the truth.
When you refuse to seek or believe the truth, then you are asking for trouble.
When Adam and Eve rejected God’s truth and accepted the devil’s lie, that was the moment that all the troubles of the whole world began. Our sinful nature often sides with the devil’s lie instead of God’s truth, because we are sinners. We’d rather believe the devil’s lie than God’s truth. ~ Billy Graham, What Is Truth?
When your actions are based on anything less than the truth, then you are walking on thin ice. Not necessarily because God or anyone else is going to punish you for it, but because you cannot get a reliable result when your actions and decisions originate in falsehoods.
Jesus Is the Source of Truth
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 ESV
If you are struggling to find the truth about anything, then my advice is to start with Jesus. He is the cornerstone. The true, right beginning point for everything.
