Like all of you, over the course of my life, I’ve faced hard times and difficulties.
I’ve asked, “Why me?” and I’ve struggled to understand.
However, Jesus has always comforted me in one way or another. Often, through His Word.
From way back in my early teens, I’ve had one passage of scripture that always stood out to me.
This is usually the first place I turn in the Bible when I need comfort and encouragement from God.
Some Amazing Promises from God
I think one of the things I like so much about these verses is how bold they are. They plainly proclaim some large promises from God.
Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord .
Trust him, and he will help you.
He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.
Psalm 37:3-6 NLT
I’ll admit, when things aren’t going my way, it takes a lot of faith to believe in what God says here.
Still, I find comfort in His promises. I believe that God is faithful and in the end he will bring justice to my situation.
Why do I feel this way?
Like I said, these verses have been a rock for me for many years. So, I’ve seen, over the long haul, how God stands by what He says.
He’s always caused everything to work together for my good. Even in the bad times. No matter whether I brought the difficulties on myself or they happened to me by chance, God stood by His Word.
It might have taken a little time for me to see it, but God has always been faithful to me and to His promises.
Delight Yourself in the Lord Today
So, if you are going through a difficult time, find a way to delight yourself in the Lord.
Study God’s Word until it makes your heart happy. Sing praises to Him for the good stuff in your life.
Commit it all to Him. Surrender the situation to God. Let Him handle it for you.
I wholeheartedly believe that, in the end, He’ll come through for you.
What are your thoughts about this? Has it helped you? Do you struggle with God’s promises?
