We make all kinds of choices every day. There are big choices like who to marry and where to live. And there are smaller choices like what to eat and what to wear. Regardless of the size of the choice, we are the result of our choices.
The Greatest Choice
…choose this day whom you will serve… Joshua 24:15 ESV
One of life’s greatest choices is whom you will serve. Make no mistake about it, we all serve someone. It may or may not be God, but it is someone. It could be your spouse, your boss or even just yourself, but you choose who it will be and this choice makes a tremendous difference in your life.
This choice will determine a great deal in how your life goes. It will dictate much of what you do and how you live. It will decide how happy you are and how you handle difficulties.
This is your choice. You can let others make it for you, but you don’t have to. In fact, I’d encourage you to stop for a moment and consider. Who are you serving? Generally, we all have multiple people we are trying to please in our lives, but who is it that you primarily serve?
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Galatians 1:10 NIV
Are you satisfied with your answer? Are you happy with your choice?
Choose Wisely Whom You Will Serve
The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9 ESV
The biggest choice you can make in life is whom you will serve. Ultimately, like it or not, God will decide the outcomes in your life (and beyond). The sooner you align your priorities with His, the better. Life is full of choices, choose wisely.
