Worry robs you of inner peace. It steals your joy. But, there is a solution. There is a path to lasting peace and contentment.
The Source of Peace
Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.] John 14:27 AMP
Peace comes when we align our thoughts and actions with Jesus.
When we put our faith in our Lord and trust Him for everything, then we can be at peace.
Yes, we have a role. We are to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8). We are to do the things that God has instructed us to do, but ultimately, we have to trust Him for the results (the outcomes).
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need. Luke 12:31 NLT
We have to remember that God is sovereign over everything. He is in total control and He is trustworthy.
Is your faith and belief in Jesus strong enough to accept His peace so you can stop worrying?
This is a question that I’ve been pondering a lot lately.
Here’s what I know. God is more than capable of taking care of me. Also, I know that God loves me and wants what is best for me. Heck, God knows better than I do what is best for me.
So, if I worry, it is simply because I lack faith and belief.
Give Your Worries to God in Prayer
Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. Philippians 4:6-7 MSG
I need to confess my worry to God in prayer and let His peace take over. It is sometimes easier said than done, but with a little persistence, you can have peace instead of worry.
