The Apostle Paul tells us, “whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Cor 10:31)
When we humble ourselves and serve others, we glorify God. People see our kindness and their hearts are softened toward Him. Don’t underestimate the power of this.
Service Is Your Purpose
Take a look at something Jesus said to His Heavenly Father:
I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. John 17:4 NLT
This is yet another way that we can copy Jesus.
God has a purpose for you. You are a part of His plan. Are you willing to accept your part? Are you willing to serve Him according to His purpose for you?
He has even gifted you with certain capabilities so that you can serve others and help them find their way to Christ.
In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. Romans 12:6 NLT
Don’t dismiss this or shrug it off. Whether you are realize it or not, God has given you certain talents or gifts to complete your mission here on earth. So, what is your mission? Well, take a look at what Peter tells us:
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10 NIV
A steward is someone that manages the provision and distribution of something, in this case, grace. Remember the different kinds of God’s grace that we went over a few weeks ago?
So your mission is to use your God-given gifts to serve others and share with them the richness of God’s grace, in its various forms, to glorify Him in the eyes of everyone.
Pretty cool, huh?
Complete Your Mission for God’s Glory
God has equipped you and called you to complete the work He gave you to do.
We’ve really come full circle. Look back at the scripture I started with. Jesus said, “I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.”
Your job is to copy Jesus.
